As the saying goes “you are what you eat”. The challenge that we face is that we are never taught what to eat, what not to eat and why. We ate whatever our parents gave us as we were growing up, which was usually foods considered to be “normal” to the country that you were born in.
I have suffered from acne since I was a teenager. To treat it, I tried a million creams, different medications with horrible side effects, laser, etc., spending thousands of dollars. In 2008 I decided to go to a homeopath who started asking me questions about my diet. This was the first time I was exposed to the importance of nutrition and how it impacts your health. As part of this experience, I learned what foods to avoid to improve my skin’s health and also what foods to eat to have a healthy diet.
After six months of changing my diet, combined with daily meditation exercises, my skin greatly improved. I achieved results that I never saw before with anything that I had tried. Thanks to my acne, this was the beginning of my mindful eating journey as well as my meditation journey. I will explain more about dealing with acne in a future blog post where I will share all the details of what I did.

Eating healthy is not that difficult
Once you have the knowledge and understanding that I will share with you, you will realize that it is quite simple. The challenge that could arise here is how difficult it is for you to let go of the “bad” things that you are eating. This could help us realize that you might have other challenges related to mental health that I can help you with.
